Shopify Stocky has shut down
A Stocky alternative for what to reorder, and how much
Shopify retired Stocky: the app is no longer available after August 31, 2026. Purchase orders, suppliers and receiving now live in the Shopify admin. What the admin doesn’t do is tell you which products to reorder and how many.
LeadLamp does that part. For every SKU it sets a reorder point from daily sales, your supplier’s lead time and safety stock, counts stock already on order, and emails your team a list every Monday: what to order now, what to order this week, how many cartons, and why.
What Shopify’s built-in tools cover, and what LeadLamp adds
| What you used Stocky for | Shopify admin now | LeadLamp |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase orders and suppliers | Yes. Create purchase orders and manage suppliers in the admin. | No. Keep using the Shopify admin. |
| Receiving stock | Yes. Receive a purchase order through an inventory transfer. | No. |
| How many days of stock are left | The “Inventory remaining per product” report: stock on hand ÷ average daily sales. | Days of cover on every SKU. The reorder check also counts stock already on order. |
| What to reorder, and how many | No reorder suggestions in the built-in inventory reports. | A Monday list of what to order now and this week, rounded to whole cartons, with the arithmetic shown. |
| Lead time and safety stock in the math | Not part of the days-remaining report. | Reorder point = daily sales × lead time + safety stock, per supplier or per SKU. |
| Shopify POS | Built in. | Counts POS sales (they’re Shopify orders). No POS tile. |
Is Shopify’s “days of inventory remaining” enough?
Shopify’s report tells you how long current stock lasts. It doesn’t know your supplier needs 60 days to deliver. Put a product’s number from the report next to its lead time:
Order now — you’re 29 days late
A new order takes 60 days to arrive and you want 14 days of buffer, so you need more than 74 days of stock to wait.
Shopify’s report doesn’t include stock already on order. If some is on the water, add the days it covers to the first number. LeadLamp does this for you on every SKU.
How to switch
- 1Start on Free with a CSV of SKUs, stock and recent sales, or start Pro to connect Shopify directly. Pro’s first 7 days are free.
- 2Add each supplier’s lead time — production, freight and warehouse check-in — plus safety stock and carton sizes.
- 3Enter stock on order from your open purchase orders. LeadLamp doesn’t read Shopify’s incoming quantities yet.
- 4Pick the day and hour. The list arrives by email, and in Slack, Feishu or DingTalk if your team works there.
What LeadLamp doesn’t replace
LeadLamp doesn’t create purchase orders, receive stock, count inventory, print barcodes or add a tile to Shopify POS. Keep using the Shopify admin for those. LeadLamp only reads from your store. If you need forecasting and purchase orders in one tool, the comparison with planning suites covers Prediko, Inventory Planner and Flieber.
Price
Stocky came with Shopify POS Pro. LeadLamp is free for one store and 20 SKUs with CSV import. Pro is $19 a month and adds the Shopify connection; the first 7 days are free. Details are on the pricing page.
Questions
- When did Stocky shut down?
- Shopify’s Help Center says the Stocky app is no longer available after August 31, 2026, and that merchants should move to Shopify’s inventory management features.
- Does LeadLamp do everything Stocky did?
- No. It replaces the reorder suggestions: what to order and how much. Purchase orders, receiving and transfers are in the Shopify admin now.
- Does it count sales from Shopify POS?
- Yes. POS sales are Shopify orders, and LeadLamp reads the last 14 or 28 days of orders to work out each SKU’s sales pace.
- Is there a free option?
- Yes. The Free plan covers one store and 20 SKUs with CSV import, enough to try it on your best sellers. Connecting Shopify needs Pro.
- Do I need my old Stocky data?
- No. LeadLamp reads current stock and recent orders from Shopify. Lead times, safety stock and carton sizes you enter once, or upload as a CSV.
